A very tricky subject, and one which you have adressed in a fair manner, I feel.

It is most unfortunate that the hard right cannot bear the idea of any sort of controls being put in place. But I think that something has to be done do prevent any old nutcase from walking into a gun store and buying a gun( or ordering online).

It is indeed terrible that anyone at all can legally buy a gun, almost no questions asked.

Here in Canada the far left think simplisticly that banning guns will stop gun crime.

They cheerfully ignore that our very own indiginous people have a great underground trade going on for anything you might want to get from guns to drugs to gucci watches. If they dare to mention this they will get screamed at by the rest of the far left for "picking on indiginous people"

Meantime the gangs get their weapons from these underground suppliers and until that stops, gangs and guns will continue to be rampant here.
