Anything that likes Zone 7 is only a summer plant for us. Too bad, I really love those Birch trees in your former garden. All we have are the Silver Birch. These are essentially a swamp tree and do not do well in most gardens since they rarely get enough water, and to prosper, really need to be planted in groups of three or four. Most gardens cannot accommodate groups like this.

What a shame when one has to leave a place one loves. I understand about changing life requirements and completely sympathize with you.

I look forward to seeing what changes you bring about in your new garden.

We do not have many mail order plant catalogue places here, at least not ones that specialize in really unusual plants. The more interesting plant places are either in the UK or in the U.S. and in both cases there are restrictions on importing plants to Canada from overseas.

I beieve that you and I are plant junkies. ;-)
