Carol, I am in tune with this, as you might have thought.
However, although I hesitated about bringing some plants with me from both houses, I did bring ones that were special, and that I thought could not easily be replaced.
It is terribly sad to see something that you have nurtured go down the tubes, but I guess the reality is that no one is going to feel the same way as you.
Each time I give up a client garden, I worry about how the next gardener will deal with the plants that I spent years growing.
With the gardens in our our own previous houses, of course it is heartbreaking to see them changed or unkempt.
What happened to your gardens is totally heartbreaking, but really, you are right to concentrate on your new endeavour, and let the previous ones go.
Fortunately, you have tones of wonderful photos of what you had.
