If we look back in history, we are going to find endless instance’s of different races invading and mistreating the peoples of their different countries. It is not just one group of aggressors that can be blamed.

There have been plenty of different tribes massacring each other To achieve total dominance. Right here in Canada way before white people arrived here, various tribes were happily engaged on fighting each other for control of hunting resources, for one thing.

As regards slavery - we only need to look at assorted Middle East countries to find egregious examples of modern day slavery and serious human rights abuses even as we write.

The present very vocal anti immigration sentiment seems to me to be fuelled by well meaning governments taking in too many people from other parts of the world, but not really having a workable plan to deal with them.
