I am torn when getting a story from a writer who clearly does not have English as a first language. I decided that provided the story was clear inspite of unusual expression, spelling and grammar, I wouldnā€™t change it. My reasoning is that if I was sitting down chatting with them, I would get the drift, regardless of strange wording and bizarre grammar.

Sending private notes to writers is a great way to chat and give feedback and guidance. But. Medium does not always alert one to the note.šŸ‘æ

I would wish that when one has to reject a story, one had the option of letting the writer know why.šŸ˜”
