Fascinating, Ella.

We do use Ginko trees here in Canada as street, and garden trees. Mostly, care is taken to plant male trees, since as you point out, the fruit, produced by the female, has a terrible smell. Sometimes, booboos happen, and street trees turn out to be female.

I did not know that they are resistant to pollution, which makes them very appealing for city plantings.

I see that both raccoons and opossums enjoy the smelly pulp from the fruit.
