First of all, Richard, thank you for taking time to respond, and for providing a well informed and persuasive argument.

You also make very good points.

The problem is that this type of "misinformation" or leaving out inconvenient things has been going on for centuries, and I see no sign of improvement.

I simply find the simplistic approach that certain groups like to take is itself misinformed and does not really help. The current fufuror about AnneFrank is offensive because of how it is being presented.

In my opinion, at anyrate.

We only see a micro glimpse of how things are in other places. that goes for everyone - not just the "white" people. Peoples of other places see things through thier own unique perspective, based on what they know and how they live.

I think there is still a lot of superstition lurking in our minds. All of our minds, everywhere, regardless of skin colour.
