Good suggestions, Willie, although some these plants would only work in a moderate climate. (Canada is definitely The Great White Frozen North😂).

To get some winter colour here, we like to plant assorted dogwood shrubs whose stems are available in green, yellow, orange and red. Also assorted evergreens whose foliage comes in many shades of green.

We also like Hellebores and Heathers.
