I really like opossums. They are a great critter to have around. One of their snacks is ticks, so they can spent as much time as they wish around here. Lately our camera in the front has picked up a visiting Opossum. I hope it sticks around.

Some years ago, a big one showed up peering in at one of the basement windows. Terrified our then cat. From that time out she refused to go in the basement and if she saw a shadow, would puff up and hiss.
