Helen! You RAWK. Welcome to my own mindset. I love your writing style, by the way, but equally, I love your attitude.

I love your observations and I applaud your resolve. You go, girl.

I battle ageism tooth and nail. My biggest irritation is with my photographer husband who has a thing about taking pix of old people. His creative mind seems to only be able to focus on the young and nubile.

Now granted, the young and nubile make photography much easier, where the old and the wrinkled are a real challenge lighting-wise.

The point is, that his approach is not very different from others. Everyone loves the young, smooth skinned and sexy looking young models. You see it in many ads, you see it in clothing and make-up trends. It’s everywhere.

It of course, move into the area of “You are to old to do that” whatever “that” may be.

I do not accept the “too old” rhetoric. I ralize I have to be more careful about how I get stuff done. At this point a bad call could mean a broken something, but even so, I carry on with what I like doing. For me it’s gardening. I am a professional gardener and that work is physically demanding. I stay fit with diet and exercise and I maintain a “screw the world” attitude which seems to help me tremendously.
