Hi Phoenix,
It is, as I am sure you already know, an uphill battle to get people to support change in animal cruelty laws.
Unfortunately not many people understand that animal cruelty is often a pre-cursor to people abuse.
It is also very hard to get people to understand that being cruel to farm animals is just as bad as being cruel to companion animals.
Currently various levels of government in Canada are trying to bring about “ag gag” laws to stop people from blowing the whistle on the barbaric conditions in factory farms. Obviously, it is all about money. Big Ag (just like big Pharma) give massive donations to the various political parties, and want laws passed to keep public scrutiny to a minimum.
Our cute (so he thinks) Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau was quick to show off him and his entire family wearing winter coats from Canada Goose.
As well as brutalizing geese to get the goose down for the jackets, Canada Goose also gets fur trim from animals such as Coyotes and Wolves, trapped and killed in barbaric ways. They also use fur from animals bred on fur farms, also horribly abused.
Now, I feel that Trudeau is setting a really bad example by supporting Canada Goose and fur farms.
I have been writing a fiction piece on this, but have not been able to get it done yet. Needs work.
