I am with you! I don't really like snakes but I tolerate them. We do not have poisonous snakes normally in this part of Canada, so that is not a worry. Spiders and hairy centipedes we DO have and I hate them.

Giving them a name will not save them. I will use whatever is at hand to get rid of them.

My best weapon was a gas cigarette lighter which I used to attack a large spider which had settled in to my bathroom (years ago). It was definitely not welcome. Fortunately I did not manage to set alight to the room, but the spider was completely done in.
