I understand that it has to do with the orange and yelow colours.

I also read that they are dried and added to chicken feed to make egg yokes brighter and that organic gardeners believe the flowers help keep harmful insects at bay.

I understand that it has to do with the orange and yelow colours. Evidently pests and other good insects find those two colours VERY interesting.
