However, the only thing that matters to these companies is the bottom line.

The high profile actor/personality touting their drug is going to sell more drugs. The ordinary, everyday individual sffering from some illness - well they are NOT going to help them sell drugs. that is the plain and simple truth.

Unfortunately the world has become even more materialistic today than it ever was.

Big pharma pretty much owns everything, including a lot of farms. they finance government, so no one is going to stop them.

I totally agree with you that they should not be using actors to portray sick people, but sadly, we are fighting a losing battle here.

Sigh.
