Interesting. They do not look much the wasps we call yellowjackets here. Believe the ones we have are very aggressive and not a bit friendly.

I have no problem with bees, which never bother us, but the wasps we have are really annoying and in addition to hanging around the garden and randomly trying to bite us, they make eating outdoors unviable.

We also have Hornets which are big and REALLY nasty and attack butterflies and bees, and even birds. Their nests look similar to other wasps nests.
