Lauri, good thing I read this just before dinner, your food photos and descriptions have me drooling.
For mikes sweet cravings, why not use Stevia to reduce to sugar in a given recipe? I find it works REALLY well. I use the one called Truvia. Also why not incorporate yogurt into your recipes? It gives the added protein which balances out the bad stuff. There is a really good and fast yogurt cake recipe which has become a fave in this sweet loving household.
I do hope your various annoyances resolve soon.
