Maggie, this was great. You are a very entertaining write. The last part, about getting your own coffee maker made me howl.

My partner is a coffee-a-holic. Very picky about the beans, keeps a list. Buys the beans from a place that does its’ own roasting. Makes fresh coffee in one of those Bodum coffee press things. Grinds own beans. For every new batch of coffee. Water must reach a certain boil point. Beans must be ground in a specific way. Pot must be surgically cleaned after each batch.

Once in a blue moon, when forced to, buy coffee from some place like Starbucks. Hates it.
