Maybe if you tried talking to your members and gauging their responses, you might do better. Personally - I am not interested in mobile devices - I use a desktop. I do not like your new design, and I do not believe that it really improves the look and feel of Medium.
Actually providing a responsive help desk would go a long way to improve things. Fixing the various UI issues would also help.
Of course, you can and will do what you please because you are really the only game in town. Rock on.
