One spring, a few years ago I had a garden helper, who although not Muslim, wanted to support a Muslim friend by fasting with her. That year we were experiencing exceptionally hot weather, but this girl refused to drink anything. I was forced to make her sit in the shade and do no work because she was showing sign of heat stroke. I was shocked that she would not even drink water.
