Perhaps it depends on the specific area one lives/works in. In Toronto and Mississauga there have been political/government types attempting to meddle. Certain schools too.

In Mississauga, complaints were made about decorations (christmas and halloween)on people’s apartment balconies, and Canadian flags.

I believe that there are a lot of do-gooder types that try to enforce things that they THINK might be upsetting to certain groups.

Did I mention that I have ZIP respect for 99 percent of politicians and bureaucrats? — take what is going on right now with the various protests re that gas pipeline through indiginous lands. this is being totally mishandled and no good will come of it, you wait.
