Smoking from stress? I get it. am not a smoker, but had heavy smokers for parents, leaving me with various respiratory issues. I get that it is really hard to quit at a time like this, but, because of your Dad, I think this is one battle you have to escalate, and win.

Have you looked into anti-smoking gum? Gross habit (gum chewing) but seems to work for some people.

The people in charge are assholes? (loosely paraphrasing here). Abso-fucking-lutely! Just plain morons that are reactionary rather than planning and acting in a sensible way. We are doomed.;-(
