Really good topic, Rui, and one that has no easy answers.

Personally, I feel that people should’ve able to make their own decisions, without outside interference, especially religious interference.

We are able to allow our pets the escape from pain, but not our loved ones.

I have known 2 friends trapped by ALS. The mind is sound, but the body is done. At that time we did not have any legal access to suicide. Our repressive laws forced these two to suffer lengthy and miserable years of suffering. That is not humane.

Should people be able to,easily end their lives?

I think that should be looked into. No one else is in your shoes. No one else is in a position to understand how the sufferer really feels. I also feel that it is unfair to ask a medical person to take on that responsibility, just because they can.

The moralistic arguments put forth by the religious types are not valid, in my opinion.

You should be able to make your choice, and not be forced to take a messy and possibly unpleasant way out because someone thinks they should make the choice for you.

Much better to have a quick and humane method, such the pod.

Sorry, Rui.💖
