Really terrific piece Dennett.

Sadly, Christmas has become a mere shadow of what it was thanks to overcommercialisation.

I think that Christmas is really for children, but I think that we adults can have our little traditions too.

We usually celebrate with Bruces' sister and her family, but one niece refuses to get the vax, so that won't be happening this year for sure.

.

I like to do a few, low key decorations around the house. A vey small Christmas tree, some silly twinkly lights, and a really nice festive dinner.

On Christmas morning, we like to light a fire in the fireplace (the only time this happens) and have a decadent breakfast in that room. then after being suitably gorged on once-a-year pancakes and stuff, flop on the floor in front of said fire and snooze about until it goes out.

Presents - we generaly just exchange little appreciation gifts with our 5 closest neighbours. (and their dogs, of course)

Cards - well I send cards to my clients and to relatives.

Wrapping??? NOOOOOOOOO. that's what those great gift bags are for.
