It simply bad manners to talk nasty about someones pet/kid/spouse - whatever.

If someone I would normally visit suddenly turns into a snake owner, I am afraid I would have to stop visiting. I am not fond of snakes, but would not be making rude comments.

People who are not real animal lovers will never get how we feel about our fur family members.
