I know where you are coming from.

I was a Mormon, although a "joined later" one, and I cannot tell you how many arguments/fights I had with assorted church leaders about assorted things.

The funny thing is that I became a youth leader and ended up becoming a trusted friend of many youth. One of them told me years later that I had been her reason for not comitting suicide as a teen. That trust placed in me by those kids led the bishop and other leaders to constantly harass me. they wanted me to tell them what the kids had told me and I refused.

Anyway, your story is honest and thanks for sharing it.
