Sadly, it is an uphill battle. People have gotten used to the convenience of plastic wrapped everything. Here in Canada, they have just brought in a rule that no single use plastics can be used, This is something that should have happened YEARS ago.

Organic farming is something many farmers find hard to get into. Pest and disease management done without chemicals is challenging and most are not prepared to do what needs to be done.

A problem for farmers wanting to convert to organic is that the soil on their farms has endured years of chemicals of one sort or another, and is difficult to purge.

I guess all we can do is speak up, sign petitions, buy from small suppliers, get after our local politicians.

Sigh.
