Shame on all countries that refuse to get with the program.

One of my biggest regrets is calling for an ambulance when a beloved uncle was going down from dehydration. He had previously told me he wanted to pass sooner rather than later, and we had discussed options for different countries he could go to for such help. He wanted to be rmembered as he was, not what he would be after cancer had finished with him.

When push came to shove I found that I could not close the door and walk away. The result was many months of misery for him. I am so sorry.;-(

I just could not do it.

Had we had the appropriate options, he could have had the dignity he desired.
