I am pleased to say that I have visited most of these places back in the '50s during my 11 years of growing up in Portugal.

Pena Palace remains my favotire, Our home was on a winding road that led directly to Sintra mountain and on a clear day, you could just see the Palace peeking out. The deeply forested, winding road up the mountain to the palace was terrifying to a young child.
