I am happy to say that we follow most of them.

We also installed a special thermostat which allows us to control how hot/cold and when the furnace and air come on.

We keep the blinds and drapes closed in the summer, on the sunny side, and keep the temperatures a degree or so plus or minus. this has helped save money on heating and cooling.
