Actually, I was really impressed by all the shots. that Kingfisher is so gorgeous, and looks like he is posing. The swan trilogy shot is also wonderful. Swans are so very graceful.

Lowering the carbon footprint is an ongoing project for us. We try to reduce our use of the airconditioner by keeping the windows that get sun covered with blinds and curtains when appropriate. We strategically set the thermostat to reduce heat while we sleeping, and keep it moderate while we are active during the day, raise a little for between 5 and 9 while we are sitting about in the evenings. We have reduced our use of plastic containers to store food by 90 percent. We found assorted stainless steel and glass containers with locking lids. during the gardening season, we use our computer controlled sprinkler system to keep the plants hydrated, and adjust as needed to save water. We are working on a pump that would allow us to use the washing water for plant watering. We try to recycle clothing and household items before buying new. It doesn't seem like a lot, but I suppose that every little bit helps.
