That would be nice, Linda. If in fact they were trying to improve things. However, I strongly believe there is more to it than that. In the past they have shown little or no interest in fixing assorted UI issues, so why now?

I think it more likely that they are experiencing a huge cash crunch and paid advertising would help them to get over this. The move to leaving a blank column on the right is very much looking like the way Google does it, then plugs in assorted ads.
