The deer are a real problem, since they seem to have the ability to jump ANY height of fence, and eat pretty much everything. I understand that roses are a strong fave of theirs.

Someone i know who has a lot of deer issues has been trying that silly soap Irish Spring which they grate up and then surround vulnerable plants with the gratings. they claim it has been repelling deer and other pest wildlife …might be worth a try.

I have heard the soap theory before. Some people hang up really cheap smelly soap in old socks around the target plant.
