The planet most likely IS going to Hell in a handbasket, BUT, if we concentrate on all the bad stuff, we lose the good stuff on the way.

I like how you think Susan. I feel badly for you having to try to calm down a very upset son. I stay off social media and ignore most of the news.

I read a limited number of writers here. None (save one) can really be accused of writing doom and gloom.

I read to have a laugh, to have a cry, to see what others are doing, how others live. I already see for myself that the planet is in trouble.

I do what I can to reduce our carbon footprint, but since there are larger forces at work, that REALLY SHOULD be doing something, I fail to feel guilty.

As writers we ought to be doing the "hear ye hear ye" thing, but in constructive way. Give people ideas that can help the environment.Show them positive stuff that can be done.
