My partner, a computer nerd, says that more and more people are doing just that. They are using their Iphones to do pretty much everything including reading stories online, and the photos are never going to look like anything.

So, Medium is responding to the larger percent of users who use those devices.

Those of us that continue to create and read on larger devices are basically old school and our opinion doesn't really count.
